Specimen collection
The test can be taken with a nasopharyngeal swab or with an oropharyngeal swab. It is recommended to analyze the sample at the time of sample collection. If samples are not tested immediately, they can be stored at 2~8℃ for up to 4 hours, or stored at -70℃ for a long time.
Nasopharyngeal swab sample
Nasopharyngeal Swab Specimen Collection: Tilt the patient’s head back at 70 degrees. Insert the swab into the nostril (the swab should reach a depth equal to the distance from the nostrils to the outer opening of the ear). Leave the swab in place for several seconds to absorb secretions. Slowly withdraw the swab while rotating it.
Oropharyngeal swab sample
Oropharyngeal Swab Specimen Collection: Insert the swab into the posterior pharynx and tonsillar areas. Rub the swab over both tonsillar pillars and the posterior oropharynx and avoid touching the tongue, teeth, and gums.

Test procedure
- After sample collection, remove the screw cap. Break off the head part of the swab and store this part in the bottle.
- Shake the sampling tube several times, making sure that the sample is completely dissolved in the sampling fluid.
- Remove a test card from the shipping bag by tearing it at the notch and placing it on a level surface.
- Unscrew the top screw cap and add 2 drops of liquid to “S” (the sample well).
- Wait 15-20 minutes and read the results. Do not read the results after 20 minutes.
- After the test, place the medical waste in the biosafety bag.
The test provides preliminary test results. Negative results do not exclude SARS-CoV-2 infection and cannot be used as the sole basis for treatment or other management decisions.
